Uživam u svakom retku ove tople obitljske priče iz perspektive male djevojčice Jean Finch zvane Scout. Čistom čarolijom me je preselila u taj jedan svijet suosjećajnosti, predanosti i duhovnosti. Scout je upravo u dobi kada, nažalost bez majke (koja je umrla) ali uz divnog oca (Atticusa) počinje shvaćati razliku između dobra i zla, prihvaća svijet koji nije uvijek dobronamjeran, nepravdu i rasizam, važnost porijekla i pogubnost predrasuda.
